Ballet technique is the foundation for all forms of dance. Ballet training focuses on developing a solid foundation with emphasis on understanding correct body placement, proper use of turnout and coordination of the body with an emphasis on graceful movement quality.
Lyrical dance is a fusion of ballet and jazz dance forms. It uses music to inspire poetic movements for the dancer. Great emotion is typically expressed through lyrical movement. Contemporary dance combines ballet, jazz and modern dance influences.
Creative Movement is an intro to dance class for ages 3-4. This class will cover ballet basics as well as teach general coordination of the body in a fun filled weekly class.
Offered to ages 6 and older or with a teacher recommendation. This class will focus on strengthening your body, while adding attitude, funk, and style to your movement. This specialty class brings a hot style to UDA dancers. Let loose, have fun, and come funk it up.
Jazz combines classical ballet and modern dance technique with contemporary influences. A strong emphasis on energy, rhythmic style and performance.
UDA offers a class designed to focus and hone in on specific elements of dance. This class will work on warm-up exercises for each focus as well as stretching and strengthening active muscles needed to perform each technique and therefore enhance the overall focus. The class will emphasize progressive and stationary turns as well as a variety of leaps and jumps. All UCC team members will receive a 50% off discount on this amazing specialty class!
Pointe dancers perform classical ballet in the shoes that are structured to allow them to rise to the tips of their toes. Dancers are required to be evaluated and approved to make sure they have proper strength and placement.
Repertory is for dancers wishing to enhance their performance ability and have more time on stage. This team is supplement to technique classes; therefore, a ballet, jazz and tap technique class must be take to be a part of this fun, award winning team. Repertory team members are required to meet technique requirements.
Tap dance is a form of dance characterized by using the sounds of tap shoes as a form of percussion. Dancers will find the rhythm and beat not only in the music but in their body movement as well.
Roll on into UDA’s tumbling class available to dancers aged 7 and up or with teacher recommendation. This class will work on building basic tumbling and gymnastics skills. Focusing on basic motor skills, balance, flexibility, strengthening the body and building coordination. Come see how we roll!
A class specially designed for 2 & 3-year-old dance stars to buddy up with their adult dance partner, it may be mom, dad, or a special friend. This class will include all of the skills and activities of UDA’s very popular Creative Movement classes for 3 & 4-year-olds, however; it allows a parent or someone special to participate in the first stages of their little dancers’ dreams. It’s a great chance for the child to learn about dance while encouraging a special bond with mom or dad.
